STILL WAITING, MASSEY: Five Months of Stonewalling . . . And Counting

Here's Why Pet Owners Need to Stick to Their Guns When It Comes to Massey's Evasion of Accountability . . . Because Unless You Do What I'm Doing, This Is How Pets Will Continue to End Up After A 'Stay' in Massey University's Companion Animal 'Hospital'

ABOVE . . . the Graphic Result of 15 Hours in Massey University's Companion Animal 'Hospital' under the 'care' of one Stephanie Rigg and 'Dr' Steffi Maja Jalava:   

Harry was admitted for nothing other than a 24-hour course of urgent rehydration . . . and had looked like a perfectly normal (albeit somewhat dehydrated) dog when I walked through the doors of this inaptly-named veterinary "hospital" with him.

Fast forward 15 hours under the "care" of  ICU staff and a "Stephanie Rigg", and then, most lethally of all, under a "Dr" Steffi Maja Jalava as he was opportunistically converted to a student "teaching" resource and "educational" video content.

The above photograph is what extreme pharmacological suppression of the Central Nervous System looks like . . . the result of multiple, catastrophic-level doses of totally unnecessary and specifically contraindicated Gabapentin and other substances, and the intentional disconnection from IV fluids, and having been used as a prop for multiple student "educational" activities and videos leading up to the fabricated "terminal neurological" diagnosis that Jalava used to coerce an otherwise totally unnecessary "euthanasia" high-pressure outcome.

The following article was published May 7, 2026 on The Customer & The Constituent NZ as the third in a three-part series documenting Massey University's ongoing refusal to comply with its statutory information release obligations.

It is republished here as part of IIIVE's coverage of the systemic obstruction tactics deployed by Massey University against a complainant seeking basic accountability for the atrocities the institution's staff inflicted in Harry Kelly - with his tortured and unnecessary death being the ultimate  result - and the actual intended outcome.

This article publishes a formal reminder to Massey of nine critical Official Information Act-required items —filed as long as five months ago — that remain either entirely unanswered or inadequately answered, including the identities of all staff involved, the Controlled Drugs Register, the full ICU video footage, and the missing December 1 IDEXX diagnostic data (the day the catastrophic overdosing of Harry hit its peak and laid the ground for their use of him in student experiments and videos and Jalava's then-fabricated sudden "neurological" decline diagnosis to coerce his "euthanasia".

I write to formally remind you that the following items from my OIA request REF#02/2026 – due for response by March 13, 2026 – remain either entirely unanswered or inadequately answered, now nearly two months past the statutory deadline.

Items that have received no response whatsoever:

Identity of Clinicians and All Other Involved Parties

The unredacted names and professional roles of all staff, contractors, visiting specialists, locums, students, interns, academic staff, or other persons employed or engaged by, or associated with, Massey University in any capacity who were involved in the "care", "treatment", handling, observation, filming, recording, or any procedural, instructional, or educational interaction with Harry Kelly during November 30 and December 1, 2025 and subsequent days (i.e. following his forced death) – including but not limited to any individual who was present in the ICU or any other area of the Companion Animal Hospital and who had any involvement with, interaction with, observation of, or proximity to Harry Kelly during his admission, for any purpose whatsoever, whether clinical, supervisory, observational, educational, or administrative – and all staff and other persons involved in the handling of his body following his forced December 1, 2025 death.
 
Further to this, the role and involvement of each individual and the reason for it.

December 1 IDEXX Diagnostic Data
 
All machine-generated diagnostic monitoring data, IDEXX reports, and automated vital signs logs for Harry Kelly for December 1, 2025, including explicit confirmation of whether any such data was recorded and, if so, its current location within Massey's records management system.

The absence of this data from the records provided to date is noted. Any confirmation that no such data exists will itself be treated as a significant finding requiring further explanation, given that Massey's own Clinical Summary claims active patient monitoring during this period. Harry was documented in that Clinical Summary as "obtunded" and "limp" during December 1 – a period during which he was, in fact, catastrophically over-sedated.

The December 1 IDEXX data would confirm what was actually happening to him during that period, which is precisely why its absence from the records released to date is so significant.

Controlled Drugs Register 

All entries in the Controlled Drugs Register pursuant to the Medicines Act 1981 and the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, as they relate to the dispensing, administration, or recording of any controlled or prescription substance administered to Harry Kelly during November 30 and December 1, 2025, or to his remains.

Patient Record Access Log and Audit Trail 

The unredacted Field-Level Audit Log and all associated system access logs identifying the names, position titles, and login credentials of every staff member who accessed, viewed, created, amended, "updated" or deleted any entry in Harry Kelly's electronic patient record from November 30, 2025, to the date of response.

Instructional Content Authorisation

All internal documentation, ethics committee approvals, funding agreements, timetabling records, course or module materials, staff or student instructions, and any other records related to the production of "instructional content", clinical demonstrations, procedural training exercises, or clinical studies of any kind conducted in the ICU or any other part of Massey University and/or its Companion Animal “Hospital” during the period of Harry Kelly's admission – including but not limited to any activity involving the observation, handling, filming, recording, or use of Harry Kelly for any educational, training, or research purpose, whether formally authorised (and who by) or otherwise – and also including all such activity conducted while his body was in Massey's possession following his forced death on December 1, 2025.

Conflict of Interest Disclosures (Seton Butler) 

All internal records, disclosures, and management plans regarding Seton Butler's dual role as a Massey University Adjunct Lecturer (past or present) and his professional advisory role at the Veterinary Council of New Zealand – and all communications of any type relating to Jordan Kelly or Harry Kelly.

Conflict of Interest Disclosures (Jenny Weston)

All internal records, disclosures, and management plans regarding Dr Jenny Weston's dual role as Massey University Academic Program Director and her ex officio VCNZ membership – and all communications of any type relating to Jordan Kelly or Harry Kelly.

Items answered inadequately:

ICU Video Footage

Your statement that "that is all you are entitled to"  with regard to the single “still” shot from each of at least six remaining unreleased videos of my pet, in response to my request for full video footage, is insultingly insolent and NOT accepted.

Actually, since he was a private paying patient, YOU weren't entitled to overdose him (unnecessarily and repeatedly) with a contraindicated sedative and disconnect him from his by-then life-essential fluids that you billed me for a full 24 hours of (even though you'd killed him long short of that timeframe) so that you and your students could film his agony on your cell phones for your entertainment and the university's "educational material" profit.

The footage remains requested in full.

Pet Farewells Communications 

Noting that the veracity of claims regarding the whereabouts of Harry’s ashes remains in strong and highly justifiable contention (Pet Farewells having been told that I “didn’t want Harry back”), your response that "no records were kept" because Pet Farewells is not your usual supplier, is not accepted as either adequate ethics, operational sufficiency, or standard protocols compliance.

The absence of records is itself a significant finding requiring explanation, given that Massey recommended and dispensed Harry’s body – i.e. the property of a private fee-paying client – to Pet Farewells, under your recommendation.

I require a response to all outstanding items without further delay. These matters will be referred to the Ombudsman if not addressed promptly. They will also continue to be kept at the top of the coverage being published on The Customer & The Constituent.

Also hereby be advised that this OIA request – and your response to it, or lack thereof – will be forwarded to the Ministry of Primary Industries' Animal Welfare Inspectorate, which is currently conducting its investigation into the Harry Kelly matter at your Companion Animal "Hospital".
